My name is Adrienne Black-Connell  and I am a Canadian artist best known for my oil paintings and mixed media portraitures. I have been "an artist" since I can remember. I don' t think there has ever been a time that I haven't been drawing or painting or cooking or creating. My doting parents and my ever enthusiastic God father indulged my every interest in this field for which I am eternally grateful. Without formal fine arts degrees, I have studied nonetheless developing my craft and enjoying every minute. You know when you have found the thing that lights you up when you find yourself doing it all the time.

 

Through my journey I have found my calling to share the world's beauty. To remind people that there are so many gifts right outside our doorsteps that are free for the experience if only we slow down and see them. This is what I paint.

 

The glint of an expressive eye, the light dancing off a wave, or the way colours glow effortlessly in the sun are all subjects that draw me in. I have been lucky to have travelled to many places, seen many vistas, and shared many cultural delights. I feel inspired to share all the beauty I can in hopes of reminding people that life has so many simple gifts that are free, enlightening and healing. These gifts are there for everyone.
